FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT PENFOLDS RED WINES
Should Penfolds red wines be chilled?
Penfolds red wines are best enjoyed at 18-20°C (64-68°F). During warmer months, if the ambient temperature is higher, consider cooling the wine slightly. Serving red wine too warm may cause the alcohol to become more pronounced, overshadowing the wine's complex flavours and aromas. Serving at the correct temperature ensures the wine shows its best character. For more information on serving your wine click here.
How long can you cellar Penfolds red wine?
All Penfolds wines will reward careful cellaring. However, the optimum bottle maturation period will depend upon whether the wine is red or white, its ‘style’, the format (size) of the bottle and the vintage. Some wines are deliberately made for earlier consumption, whereas others, like Grange, are crafted for the long haul. You will find a ‘peak drinking’ window displayed on the wines tasting note.
